Report on June 30 SMRN meeting
SMRN had another excellent and prolific meeting on June 30, 2018. In this meeting, Kalpana Subramanian and Tarek Elhaik presented their work with following discussions. Those attending the meeting include

Kalpana Subramanian is interested in the intersection of Indian philosophy and moving image art. In her work, she looks inquire into American experimental film using the lens of the Cinema of Prayoga, a concept developed by Indian film critic Amrit Gangar.
Tarek Elhaik shared two of his works, one of them is a fieldwork research into the afterlives of Averroes in early modern and contemporary art and the other looks at contemporary artist Mounir Fatmi’s ongoing photographic series “Blinding Light” with the concept of “cogitation”.
