Bahar Akgün

I am a researcher with a background in architecture and civil engineering. My research focuses on the conception of space in Islamic art and architecture. As a scholar immersed in research, teaching, and installation design, I am invested in the discovery of a perceptual grammar based on a new theoretical understanding of spatial dimension of Islamic art and architecture. I co-investigated the study “Plasticity of Seeing” at CReA in Vienna and co-founded After Apricots, a design research platform based in Istanbul and Zurich.
