Junko Theresa Mikuriya
I was born in Hong Kong, and grew up in Taipei, where I attended the Taipei American School. I worked for many years as a freelance photographer in the fashion and music industries, shooting editorials for Elle, GQ, FHM, Men's Uno and album covers for clients such as EMI, Rock Records and Sony Music. In Taipei and Hong Kong, I shot album covers for artists such as Jackie Chan, Wallace Chung, Takeshi Kaneshiro, Coco Lee and Karen Mok. I have a PhD in Cultural Studies from Goldsmiths, University of London, a Maîtrise de Lettres Modernes from the University of Paris IV, Sorbonne and a BA (Hons) in French from University College London. I am Senior Lecturer in Photography at the London School of Film, Media and Design, University of West London.
