Mélika Hashemi

Mélika S. Hashemi is an artist-scholar and PhD student in English Language & Literature. Her current research-creation practice engages with copper and cosmotechnics, forging techno-alchemical analogy-metaphors for our data-driven world.

Mélika is the co-curator (with Soheila Esfahani) of In Search of a Loss of Self (2024), co-author (with Shirin Fahimi) of O Lone Traveller (2022), and course author of Digital Spirituality (University of Waterloo).

Most recently, Mélika was a Rungh Wikipedia Scholar through the Critical Media Lab. Her upcoming publication, “What does your code seek out?” (Afterimage, Vol. 53, no.3) defines a ‘poetic computational fiberworks'.
