Moallem
Minoo Moallem is a Professor of Gender & Women's Studies at the University of California Berkeley. Since 2018, she has been the director of Media Studies. She is an affiliated faculty of Center for New Media, Center for Middle Eastern Studies, International and Area Studies, Center for Race and Gender, Center for Science, Technology, Medicine and Society, Graduate Group in Women, Gender, and Sexualities Studies, and Near Eastern Studies Department.
Her areas of specialization are Postcolonial and Transnational Feminist Theories; Islamic Nationalism and Transnationalism; Visual, Popular and Consumer Cultures; Middle Eastern Studies; Iranian Cultural Politics, and Diasporas.
