Ziggy Lever
Dr Ziggy Lever is an artist based in Aotearoa (New Zealand). He was educated at Auckland University of Technology AUT, and was awarded a PhD for his thesis “title (to be specified)” in 2018. Lever’s practice develops alongside an interest in the subjective nature of memory and perception at the intersection of scientific paradigms of observation. Through a playful mining of science and the poetic, Lever’s practice explores archival and improvisational modes of research. Collaborative, lens-based, sculptural, sonic, and constructed components playfully interrelate establishing a multi-disciplinary field or substrate. Here, artwork is a site and archive of porous cooperation, where differing modes of research and practises are developed in the social.
